Malaysia confirms first case of A(H1N1) flu

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia on Friday confirmed its first case of the A(H1N1) flu in a 21-year-old student who returned from the United States on Wednesday morning.

All passengers on the Malaysia Airlines flight MH091 from Newark on Wednesday are urged to contact the Health Ministry by calling 03-88810200 or 03-88810300

All 10 suspected A(H1N1) flu patients cleared

PUTRAJAYA: All 10 patients suspected to be hit by the A(H1N1) flu virus have been cleared of the infection, the Health Ministry said.

Director-General Tan Sri Dr Ismail Merican said that on Wednesday alone, six patients were admitted to the isolation ward at
Sungai Buloh Hospital in Selangor (oo.. about a few km from my house ? not so bad),
two at the Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital (Ipoh), one at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Kota Kinabalu) and another at the Sarawak General Hospital for observation.

“A total of 12,246 individuals coming from affected countries were screened. Of the number, 11,693 (95.5%) were scanned at air entry points, 236 (1.9%) at ports and 317 (2.6%) at land entry points,” he said in a statement yesterday.

He said seven individuals were referred for further check-up.

“As of Wednesday, 72,912 passengers had been screened at all international airports,” he said.

Dr Ismail said 20 thermal scanners had been installed at various entry points to expedite the screening process.

He said the National Crisis Preparedness and Response Centre also received 60 enquiries from the public for advice on overseas trips, treatment, vaccine and screening... ...

This is really terrible. We can know if we have H1N1 by having a test like using ELISA test kits. These help in detecting substances in our body.
